Bogie Board
The Suspects Take Manhattan! *LINK*
Well, what do you know? It worked! Posting photos from my Photobucket account to the Board, worked! So here, friends and adversaries, are a couple photos snapped the night Lenny, Harriet, Ted, Michelle and Steve (no, that's his real name) came to New York to see my play, "To Bury Caesar," at the Times Square Arts Center in New York. We all met in the lobby of the theatre beforehand, then headed off afterwards, first to the classic old pub McSorley's near 2nd Ave., then to some joint whose name I don't remember, where Harriet, Michelle, Lenny and I engaged in a vicious game and bloody game of Bogie trivia. That was all Harriet's idea. She'd brought along Alan G. Barbour's book on Bogie's films. Ted and Steve acted as the interlocutors and judges (they played fair, not favoring their ladies). I shall not mention how the game turned out, nor who won, nor will I describe what a horrible massacre it was, out of consideration for my fellow suspects (but anybody who wants to know WHO smoked the other three, ask me, go ahead, just ASK me). Bottom line: Great fun. More than grown-ups have a right to. I'm delighted they came to the play, and that we have photos of that terrific night. Here's a couple:
If there is one, we couldn't think of it. Ah, but finally, we remembered something! Bogie, in "Dead Reckoning," nicknames Lizabeth Scott "Mike." And what's the last line of the movie? Right! We wrote it on the sign (and if you know the movie, you know how right-on that is; if you don't know the movie, go watch it NOW). Great fun, gang. Let's do it again before I go back to Hollywood. We'll always have McSorley's.... Messages In This Thread
