Hey Mike - I don't think Bogie's appeal is waning at all. My son is one of those age group you mention (he's 25), and still thinks Bogart is the best of the best (yes, he was raised properly, thank you).
But (a) that generation doesn't seem to be big in the "writing" department, and (b) since the majority of Bogie's movies are in black'n'white, I don't know that they've seen the majority of them. "Falcon," "Casablanca," yes, to name just a couple, but let's face it, something like "Treasure" isn't a big action movie. Bogart's films are intelligent (even the not-so-great ones). I'm afraid some of our "youngers" are less inclined to think.
Maybe if the Bogie Board featured a "texting" page we'd get more of a response from them (I shudder to think - "U C Sabrina las night? Word! ;)" ).
Let's hope not....
